Food Blogger Cookbook Swap 2014

Food Blogger Cookbook Swap

Nearly everyone I know is a cookbook collector.

It always starts innocently enough; maybe you found a book that was on sale for a song and couldn’t be missed, or maybe you had to buy your favorite chef’s cookbook(s). But then before you realized what was happening, you moved your entire collection into the spare room and bought a third new bookshelf to house it.

Sound familiar? Me too.

That’s why Alyssa from Everyday Maven and I decided to host the Food Blogger Cookbook Swap (sound familiar? We hosted a Food Blogger Prop Swap last year)…we all have at least one cookbook we’d be willing to part with, right?

The idea was that a food blogger would send one of his/her new or gently used cookbooks to another food blogger, and in return, he/she would receive a cookbook from another food blogger. Now the swapping is finished, and we can all enjoy our new (to us, anyway) cookbooks!

I was randomly paired with Anne from From My Sweet Heart. I sent her a signed copy of my cookbook, and I hope she enjoys it. I consider the recipes in it like family heirlooms, and I hope they grace Anne and her family’s table and maybe even become some of her their favorites. (Update: Someone who had signed up to participate ended up not being able to get a book sent out, so I was happy to send my cookbook to Jordan of I’m Gonna Cook That! as well. I hope she enjoys the book and gets use out of it for years to come.)

Everyone else was randomly paired, but Alyssa was paired with me because I was headed off to Kuwait and needed my book early. She sent me a dessert cookbook called Great Cakes, which has some really lovely cakes in it. I will probably be pulling it out again and again when I want to serve a special occasion cake for a birthday or during the holidays. Thank you, Alyssa!

As always, the swap has been such a fun event – and a huge thank-you to all who participated! Alyssa and I are thinking about hosting another swap, and we’re open to ideas. (Wouldn’t a spice swap be fun?!) If you have any suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments below, and if you’re interested in participating in our next swap, you can join our mailing list here!

Here are the other bloggers who participated in this event. Be sure to check out a few of their posts and leave some comment love!
