My sister and I both vividly remember trips to the grocery store with our mom when we were kids. Funnily enough, there was nothing at all very memorable about them – we spent the majority of those grocery runs waiting in the car.

Each and every time, it seemed like my mom took not only longer than anyone else going in (and we knew because we kept track! We had to entertain ourselves somehow), but even longer than she’d taken the previous time. I’m sure she must have broken record after record on how long it can take to shop when you’re just getting one small bag of groceries (or “only running in for just a couple things!”, as she’d always say).
