Pina Colada Smoothie1

The final treat I’m sharing in honor of Frozen Treat Week is a real doozy.

In keeping with the other two healthy treats I’ve shared for this event (3-Minute Easy Cherry-Chocolate Sorbet and Almost-Instant Healthy Mint Chocolate Chip Soft Serve), today’s treat is equally healthy. And every bit as delicious.

I’m not even kidding when I say that last summer I don’t think I touched a carton of ice cream once because of this smoothie. And that’s not to say that I didn’t crave ice cream. (more…)

There are so many things that I make for myself on a near-daily basis that I just don’t think about sharing the recipe for.

Silly things.

Like this caramelized onion + goat cheese omelet, this cabbage hash + fried eggs, or this pretty little breakfast number.

Or an almost-instant, healthy treat (that I promise tastes more indulgent than healthy), like this cherry-chocolate sorbet that can be easily whipped up when a sweet craving strikes. (more…)

Healthy-Enough-For-Breakfast Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups {Giveaway — Tropical Traditions Organic Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil}

Do you remember a couple months ago when I made Mini Vanilla-Almond Cupcakes and gushed about Lisa’s blog?  (The cupcakes were healthy enough to be breakfast – really, how could I not be smitten?)

Well, this treat is another of Lisa’s creations.  When I swooned over her recipe for Double Peanut Butter Chocolate Cups a while back and noticed that she mentioned they were healthy enough for breakfast, I knew it would not be long before they graced my kitchen. (more…)

Double Berry + Coconut Pops {No Added Sugar}

Mid-June (when strawberries are in peak season here) I found the most perfect looking local strawberries.  I bought a quart that day and went back the next day for a flat.  (Strawberry season is so short that we need to get our fix while we can.  :) )  But not even Mike and I (despite eating them by the bowlful just about around the clock) could go through that many berries by ourselves. (more…)

Chocolate Avocado Pudding {Vegan}

Monday, April 23rd, 2012

It’s not new, but on the off chance that someone hasn’t made chocolate avocado pudding I wanted to share my version.  If you’re on the fence about making it, give it a try!  If the fact that it’s healthy doesn’t sell you, just know that its creaminess rivals that of any chocolate pudding you’ve indulged in.  (And no, you can’t taste the avocado!)  :) (more…)

Here’s the recipe I promised you in my Philly Indulgence post…but I can’t take credit for this delicious recipe.  ;)

My friend Lisa (author of the bog Thrive Style) is incredibly talented.  She is constantly coming up with super healthy treats that are just as delicious as they are healthy…which means they’re perfect for not only nourishing your body, but also for satiating a sweet tooth.  (And when I mean healthy, I don’t mean healthier-but-still-not-healthy; I mean legitimately healthy.  Breakfast-food healthy.)

And when I can eat a breakfast that tastes indulgent but will leave me feeling energized and ready to start my day, I am one very happy girl. (more…)
