Today marks mine and Mike’s 8th wedding anniversary, which seems completely crazy to me. (Crazy that eight years have passed, not that we’ve stuck together that long. Although, maybe it is a little crazy since we were so young when we got married…who says kids can’t make good choices? Lol.) Anyway, people have been congratulating us all over the place for passing the “seven year itch”, so I’ll take our 8th anniversary as a really good omen.

I don’t like PDAs (which includes PDAs on the blog!) so not to worry, I won’t get all mushy here. But I will tell you a little something about our honeymoon… (more…)

A while ago I bought a bulk-sized package of creamed coconut on Amazon. I was actually looking for coconut cream but I couldn’t find it; not realizing that several coconut products (creamed coconut, coconut cream, and cream of coconut) were named in a lawyer-like fashion with their meaning hinging on an ever-so-slight difference in word ordering, I bought a six-pack.

How different could creamed coconut really be from coconut cream?, I asked myself. I was about to find out.

Let’s just say, perhaps the only thing they have in common is that they’re made from coconut. (more…)

My friend Lisa (author of the bog Thrive Style) is incredibly talented.  She is constantly coming up with super healthy treats that are just as delicious as they are healthy…which means they’re perfect for not only nourishing your body, but also for satiating a sweet tooth.  (And when I mean healthy, I don’t mean healthier-but-still-not-healthy; I mean legitimately healthy.  Breakfast-food healthy.) 

And when I can eat a breakfast that tastes indulgent but will leave me feeling energized and ready to start my day, I am one very happy girl. (more…)
