There’s something about this meal (or maybe it’s my photos of this meal) that screams ‘70’s to me. (Which is a little weird since I wasn’t even born yet in the ‘70’s, but I think I’m remembering episodes of The Brady Brunch, which I used to watch like it was my job when I was growing up…I was convinced I was Jan and my younger sister was a combo of both Marcia and Cindy, lol.) I adore a good Reuben, probably more than the average girl. To me, it doesn’t get much better than hitting up a good deli for lunch, and about half the time I end up ordering a Reuben (and being tempted to do so the other half of the time). But I have to admit, I’ve never made a one at home until now.

If there were no such thing as calories, this is the food I would eat every day. Yes, even over dark chocolate. Ok, wait I take that back, that doesn’t count! (A girl needs her chocolate.) But still, if every food was healthy (or equally unhealthy), this would surely be a staple in my life. These little cakes of bliss are addictive like that, which is why I only recommend making them if you have a house full of people. Really. I can’t be responsible for what will ensue if you make these alone (but hey, what happens in the kitchen in the dark hours of the night is between a girl – or boy – and her/his kitchen, right?).
