Deluxe Cake Batter Fudge

I don’t know about you, but I’m a little hard-pressed to find a dessert that’s suitable for Easter outside of carrot cake, lemon bars, or orange chiffon cake. And of course all the cutesy little bunny and egg-topped cupcakes and cookies.

There’s nothing wrong with any of those things (in fact, I die over a good slice of carrot cake!), but I don’t know…I like to mix things up a little.

How do you deal with the birthday of an acquaintance or co-worker who you’re not that close with, but got you a small gift for your last birthday? It can sometimes be a little awkward…it’s not to say that he/she got you a gift to get a gift in return, but if you completely blow off their birthday altogether, you’re likely to hurt their feelings. And no one wants that.

Especially when you can eat sweet treats and be happy together instead. (more…)

For me, it’s ginger, without a doubt.

(I’m pretty sure this is because of these cookies, which I vividly remember my mom frequently making in autumns gone by.) Even when I don’t have homemade Molasses Crinkles on hand, I can usually find a box of store-bought gingersnaps in my cupboard (which are surprisingly delicious!). (more…)
