Healthy Chocolate Mug Cake Recipe (Paleo)

May 25, 2020 by Faith 25 Comments

Healthy Chocolate Mug Cake Recipe in White Mug on Wooden Table

This paleo Healthy Chocolate Mug Cake Recipe has rich chocolaty flavor and great texture! It’s saved me when I just want a little something sweet that’s fast without eating junk food. Like I mentioned when I told you about my Chocolate Cupcakes for Two, I’m kind-of particular about my cake. (As Mike likes to tell me, I’m kind-of particular about a lot of food-related stuff, but that remains to be proven and is an entirely different discussion for another day.) Anyway. I don’t think there is anything more disappointing than seeing an absolutely stunning cake and then sinking your teeth into what you think will be […]...

It’s simple and pretty, not to mention it’s a fantastic vessel for topping with some of summer’s beautiful bounty: fresh strawberries, blueberries, peaches, apricots, or cherries!...

Yellow Cupcakes with Chocolate Frosting for Two

April 17, 2020 by Faith 13 Comments

Yellow Cupcakes with Chocolate Frosting for Two are moist with a buttery vanilla flavor and are perfect for when you need just a little something sweet! Celebrations in general and weddings in particular call for cake. It’s just one of those unwritten laws of the universe. But sometimes just a random Tuesday calls for cupcakes too. Or maybe it’s New Year’s Eve and it’s just you and your sweetie ringing in the New Year at home....

Orange Chocolate Cupcakes

Orange Chocolate Cupcakes on Decorative Dark Metal Tray

Orange Chocolate Cupcakes have a soft, tender crumb and are aromatic with orange and rich with chocolate. A beautiful white chocolate drizzle on top means there’s no need for frosting! There’s no reason cupcakes have to be complicated. And there’s no need for them to have a mountain of frosting on top (although I admit, mmmm, frosting! But they can be just as good without it). If you’re looking for the perfect thing to whip up for a party or gathering, my Orange Chocolate Muffins are it. They’re a wonderful addition to a dessert table (perfect for the holidays!), and if it’s a special occasion, […]...

Blueberry Coffee Cake Recipe

September 20, 2017 by Faith 3 Comments

Crumble-Topped Blueberry Buttermilk Coffee Cake Metal Background Front View

This Blueberry Coffee Cake Recipe features bursts of sweet/tart blueberries in a rich, yet fluffy buttery vanilla cake. Earlier this summer my mom came down to Florida to visit. When mom comes into town, there are two things that I typically do: 1) Deep clean things that I typically overlook (like outside windows and inside closets). 2) Take stock of what’s in my fridge/freezer/pantry, and what homemade treats I want to have on hand....

Gluten Free Strawberry Shortcake Recipe for One (Paleo)

March 27, 2017 by Faith 4 Comments

Gluten Free Strawberry Shortcake Recipe Close Up

This Gluten Free Strawberry Shortcake Recipe for One features a sweet vanilla-scented shortcake, and an easy-to-make homemade strawberry sauce. It’s perfect for those spring or summer nights when you want a little treat just for you. I’m not going to lie; as a kid I really disliked strawberry shortcake. It was the soggy cake that deterred me! Not to mention the fact that I really didn’t care much for whipped cream either. (I was such an odd child, lol!)...

Gluten-Free Coconut Almond Flour Cake (Inspired by Middle Eastern Cake Harissa)

January 25, 2016 by Faith 14 Comments

This dense, moist, and sticky sweet Gluten-Free Coconut Almond Flour Cake is subtly scented with rose water (or vanilla, if you prefer). It was inspired by the Middle Eastern Cake Harissa, Basbousa, or Namoura. If it snowed where you live over the weekend, I hope you stayed safe and warm and had the chance to enjoy the snow. Or at least bake something delicious! Mike and I are in DC and we’ve been hunkered down since Friday enjoying the snow. This weekend we had our second snowfall, which was actually a doozy: winter storm Jonas! Being from Buffalo, I am in my element. Although we […]...

Lemon Almond Cake Recipe (Paleo)

May 2, 2014 by Faith 6 Comments

This paleo Lemon Almond Cake Recipe has a dense, but moist and tender crumb, and is sweetly aromatic with vanilla and lemon. When I was younger, I hated any and all lemon-flavored desserts with a passion. Lemon bars, lemon meltaway cookies, and even lemon meringue pie were all on my “avoid at all costs list”. (But oddly enough, I was a big fan of super sour lemon-flavored WarHeads candy – does anyone else remember those? Incidentally, I consider this proof positive that there is no rhyme or reason to kids’ tastes.)...

Basbousa Recipe aka Harissa Dessert (Middle Eastern Coconut Semolina Cake)

November 3, 2012 by Faith 17 Comments

Basbousa

Basbousa Cake, also known as Namoura or Harissa, is rich and dense with a rustic texture from semolina, and a sticky sweetness from rose or orange blossom-scented sugar syrup. This cake is called Basbousa, Namoura, or Harissa in different areas of the Middle East. My Syrian mother-in-law always calls it Harissa (also transliterated Harisseh). No matter what you call it, it’s one of my hubby Mike’s favorite Arabic desserts. And along with Knafeh bil Jiben (a Middle Eastern sweet cheese pastry), it is something he always seeks out to sample....

Pelmeni are Russian meat dumplings frequently serv Pelmeni are Russian meat dumplings frequently served with a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkling of fresh dill. You can boil or fry them, they freeze like a dream (and they cook directly from frozen!), and they make a big batch so you’ll have a freezer stash of easy dinners for busy nights. But fair warning, these are definitely a labor of love. I made them last spring on a Zoom call with ma chérie Evelyne of @cultureatz that involved ridiculous amounts of laughter, and the shenanigans of us hand making about 100 dumplings each! I’m definitely a bad blogger for not sharing the recipe until now lol. But it’s (finally!) up and you can check it out on @anediblemosaic 🥰 —> https://www.anediblemosaic.com/pelmeni-recipe-russian-dumplings/ #dumplings #dumplingsfordays #russianfood #pelmeni #foodstyling #foodstylist #foodphotography #photography #moodygrams #lightandshadow
The other day Dan and I were at an antique store a The other day Dan and I were at an antique store and we happened to find one of the vendors who was putting out #vintage #valentinesday cards she had found in one of her storage units. 💌 These are from the 1930s/1940s! She was a third generation antique dealer and she said she still has several full rooms to sort through! (I love the treasure hunt of that, it’s like exploring in your grandparents’ attic.) Anyway, I had to buy a couple cards because they’re completely charming. #happyvalentinesday, lovelies. 🥰 #valentines #romantic #flatlay #valentinesmood #vintageprops #propstyling #propstylist #photography
#ad If you’re looking for a romantic meal to mak #ad If you’re looking for a romantic meal to make for your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day this weekend, you’ve come to the right place! This meal is easy, fast (no one will guess it whips up in less than 15 minutes!), and impressive. And soooo good. 🥰

What’s on the menu? Pan seared chicken in a savory cream sauce. Steamed green beans. And Fresh Blends Ready to Cook Idaho Potatoes!

Let’s talk sides first. Steamed green beans are easy, and they round out the meal well. Or you could go with broccoli if you want.

The real star of the side dish show are these flavorful @eagleeyeproduce potatoes! They’re family grown in Idaho. Fresh-cut, never cooked, never frozen, with no preservatives. And they cook up easily with a one-step cooking process (just 8 minutes in the microwave, or you can do them on the stovetop to get them crispy). Check out their website to find their store locator to see where they’re available near you --> https://eagleeyeproduce.com/store-locator/

And now the chicken! Inspired by the famous “Marry Me Chicken”, this recipe checks all the right boxes and has all the bells and whistles. Chicken cutlets cook up quick on the stovetop, and then a luscious cream sauce flavored with garlic, fresh herbs, and sundried tomatoes cooks in the same skillet. Take a look at the recipe in the comments below.

Who says a beautiful, romantic meal has to be complicated, right? ❤️

This small batch recipe of Red Velvet Cupcakes is This small batch recipe of Red Velvet Cupcakes is the perfect dessert for you and your sweetheart this Valentine's Day, and it's even more special because it was made for a cause. ❤️

This is the 5th year in a row that Julie from @thelittlekitchn has organized the Cookies for Kid's Cancer Valentine's Event to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer, and I'm honored to be part of it.

Cancer is the top cause of death of children by disease in the U.S. There are 40,000 U.S. children actively battling cancer right now. And the National Cancer Institute’s budget for childhood cancer is less than 4%.⁣
⁣
You can help make a difference by donating to @cookies4kids. Our goal is to raise at least $3000. Thank you to @OXO, @Mediavine and @Dixie_Crystals who have each pledged to match our donations raised through this campaign up to $3000!⁣

It really is crazy delicious and it whips up in just 10 minutes in the microwave (and it has just 5g net carbs per serving!). And so here it is, lol.
