Chai tea and essential orange oil beautifully accentuate the flavor notes of dark chocolate in this Easy Chai-Spiced Dark Chocolate Orange Mousse for One.
⅓ cup (80 ml) strong-brewed masala chai (spiced tea)
3 drops orange essential oil
Instructions
Melt the chocolate in a microwave or double boiler.
Whisk the tea and orange essential oil into the melted chocolate.
Place the bowl of chocolate over a slightly larger bowl of ice water and whisk until thickened like mousse, which will take about 5 minutes if you’re whisking by hand. If you over-whip and the mousse becomes grainy, reheat the chocolate mixture and start whisking again.
You can serve it immediately or refrigerate. Note that after refrigerating it will stiffen a bit and may need to be re-whipped to smooth it out before serving.
