The Best Easy Drop Biscuits Recipe
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour – this is the base for the dough
- Baking powder – our leavening agent
- Garlic powder – this helps these biscuits taste like garlic bread
- Salt – to season the biscuits
- Dried parsley – for a garlic bread look
- Unsalted butter – this is what makes these biscuits rich and flaky; makes sure the butter is cold
- Whole milk – it will still work with low-fat milk, but use whole milk for best flavor
- Shredded mozzarella – what’s garlic bread without mozzarella?!
- Salted butter – this gets brushed on the top of the biscuits as soon as they’re out of the oven to take them over the top
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and dried parsley in a large bowl.
- Add the butter and cut it in with a fork or a pastry cutter until it looks like coarse crumbs.
- There should be some pieces of butter the size of small peas.
- Add the milk a little at a time while stirring until it comes together.
- It should form a shaggy dough (you can add more milk if needed).
- Gently stir in the shredded mozzarella.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces, and roll each into a ball. Arrange the dough balls on the prepared baking tray. Sprinkle a little garlic powder and dried parsley on top of each.
- Bake until the biscuits are golden and puffed, about 13 to 15 minutes. Immediately when they’re out of the oven, brush the melted butter on top of the biscuits.
How to Make Regular Drop Biscuits (Not Garlic Bread Flavored)
- Omit the garlic powder, dried parsley, and shredded mozzarella.

How to Make Buttermilk Drop Biscuits
- Add 2 tablespoons sugar with the dry ingredients.

Yummy, easy, versatile! In other words, perfect!
Oooo, those kinda remind me of those yummy Red Lobster cheesy garlic biscuits.

this is a brilliant idea and a lot more practical than a big loaf of garlic bread; one gets to be dainty and stick to one (or two) and that ‘s much better.
These look great! I love the idea of an easy biscuit with garlic bread flavor…yum!
My Grandfather taught me to make drop biscuits when I was a kid, and then taught my kids… A favorite memory, thank you :) These are savory and delightful…
Holy yum! My mouth is watering – they remind me of the biscuits @ Red Lobster, but I’m sure they are wayyyy better :) I definitely want to try these!
