Oatmeal Cream Pies with Rum-Raisin Brown Sugar Buttercream Frosting

October 7, 2019 by Faith 32 Comments

Inspired by Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies, these Oatmeal Cream Pies with Rum-Raisin Brown Sugar Buttercream Frosting give those classic cookie sandwiches a grown-up twist!

Oatmeal Cream Pies with Rum-Raisin Brown Sugar Buttercream Frosting on Parchment Paper on Wooden Table

Was anyone else a fan of the Little Debbie cream-filled oatmeal cookie sandwiches (aka Oatmeal Creme Pies) as a kid?

They were a very rare treat for my sister and I! Mom never bought them, which made them all the more fun to eat at our friends’ houses when mom wasn’t around. (Shhh, lol.)…

Small Batch Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Small Batch Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Cookies on Wooden Pastry Stand with Dark Linen

These Small Batch Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Cookies are thick and chewy with rich buttery flavor, hints of caramel and vanilla, and topped with a touch of flaky sea salt for a balanced flavor profile. And they are so EASY to make! And they were made with love to support a very important cause: Good Cookies Food Bloggers’ Valentines Event organized by Julie! I’m pretty excited about today’s post, not only because of the cookies (that goes without saying), but mostly because of what these cookies are supporting. My dear friend Julie from The Little Kitchen (check out her blog because it’s absolutely beautiful!) organized […]...

10+ Holiday Cookies Perfect for a Cookie Exchange or Festive Baking

This collection of Holiday Cookies That Are Perfect for a Cookie Exchange will make sure you put together a gorgeous cookie tray! I need to ask, does anyone actually partake in a cookie exchange anymore? I absolutely love the idea, first because it’s a great way to try a whole bunch of new (or new to you) cookies. But also, cookie exchanges remind me of when I was a kid; my mom loved them! The nostalgia surrounding this idea is like the nostalgia surrounding the holiday season itself; it’s what makes it special. But even if you aren’t going to a cookie exchange, these holiday […]...

Close Up of Maple Pecan Lactation Cookies

These gluten-free Maple Pecan Lactation Cookies are rich in ingredients that are thought of to contain milk supply-boosting nutrients in lactating women; plus, they’re pretty delicious! When a dear friend and quite possibly the kindest person you know has her first baby (a sweet little girl), you do the only thing you can when you live 12 hours away: make cookies and mail them to her!...

Chocolate Whoopie Pies with Maple Brown Butter Frosting and Hazelnut Caramel Crunch

Chocolate Whoopie Pies with Maple Brown Butter Frosting and Hazelnut Caramel Crunch in Wooden Box

Chocolate Whoopie Pies with Maple Brown Butter Frosting and Hazelnut Caramel Crunch are soft and chewy with flavor notes of nuts, caramel, and maple. On the first day of the New Year it’s probably more customary to share a healthy new year’s resolution type of recipe. I’m breaking all the rules with these whoopie pies! But they might just be so wrong they’re right....

Coconut Butterscotch Granola Cookies are the perfect cookie to ship to loved ones for the holidays; they ship well, feature nutritious ingredients like coconut, granola, and hemp seed hearts, and are packed with coconut-butterscotch flavor. Life can be so unexpected sometimes. Four Christmases ago, my entire family was in Buffalo and we spent every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year together; it was what we were used to. We never anticipated it not being the norm, so we almost took it for granted....

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #TeaProudly #CollectiveBias Chai-Spiced Vanilla Shortbread Cookies are laced with vanilla bean and richly spiced, the perfect fall afternoon treat with a steaming cup of tea! One of my favorite memories of fall while I was growing up in Western New York is driving out to the country for a trip to a pumpkin patch. We’d walk around the patch looking for what we thought was the best pumpkin; basically, the biggest one we could find that was perfectly Jack-O-Lantern-shaped. After that, we’d head home and continue the festivities […]...

Thin and Crispy Chocolate Malted Milk Ball Cookies

March 24, 2017 by Faith 4 Comments

Thin and Crispy Chocolate Malted Milk Ball Cookies basically taste like Whoppers in cookie form! Not too long ago, I had the pleasure of discovering that chivalry is very much alive. A kind neighbor saw me struggling to carry in a few huge boxes, and he literally told me chivalry isn’t dead as he made two trips to my car to help me!...

Slice and Bake Butter Toffee Shortbread Cookies

November 28, 2016 by Faith 9 Comments

These easy Slice and Bake Butter Toffee Shortbread Cookies are rich and buttery, and perfect for holiday baking or to have along with your afternoon coffee. Shortbread purists look away because you probably won’t want to see this, lol. Toffee bits are definitely not a component of classic shortbread, but they add a salted caramel-like flavor that takes these cookies over the top....

Peanut Butter Nutella Swirl Cookies

November 7, 2016 by Faith 7 Comments

Peanut Butter Nutella Swirl Cookies take regular peanut butter cookies to a whole new level. There are so many the dessert-type things that we sometimes pass off as breakfast. Muffins, which can range anywhere from legitimately healthy, to cupcakes by another name. Syrup-drenched pancakes or waffles, which are usually indulgent enough for dessert as they are, let alone if they’re topped with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. And even sometimes toast can be all decked out to be dessert-worthy!...

Instagram post 2185880916279076048_193133428 I asked my dad what he wanted me to bring for Thanksgiving. I know my uncle is making the turkey 🦃🍽 (and probably no less than 10 side dishes lol), so I wasn't at all surprised when dad said everything is all set. I told him there's no way I'm coming empty handed (and the veggie soup I made for his freezer stash doesn't count bc it's not Thanksgiving-related!), and he told me to bring "one of those crazy keto desserts" I make. 🤣 (Apparently my crazy keto dessert reputation precedes me. 🤷🏼‍♀️😆👏🏻) I'm going to try to find time to whip up something low carb, or I might go with this crowd-pleaser that makes enough to feed a crowd! If you've never made slab pie, the beauty of it is that it makes a huge pie 🥧 with minimal extra effort than what it takes to make a normal pie. (Side Note: Don't fear the pie! If even I can make a pastry crust, you definitely can. 😘) And I don't know about you, but when I indulge in pie, it's apple for me alllll the way. 🍎🍏 . .
