Make the pie dough.
Divide the dough into two equal portions. Press half into the bottom and slightly up the sides of a baking dish; chill this while you make the apple filling. Wrap the other half of dough in plastic wrap and freeze 1 hour.
Make the apple filling and let it cool to room temperature.
Grate the dough that was in the freezer. This is for the top crust.
Spread the apple filling evenly on the bottom crust. Spread the grated dough evenly on the apples. Bake!
After baking, let it cool to room temperature. Dust the top with powdered sugar, and enjoy.
