Chop the peaches. Add everything for the peach layer to a 9 by 13-inch casserole dish.
Add the cake topping ingredients to a bowl or zip-top bag, and whisk or shake together. Sprinkle the cake topping evenly on the peaches (don't stir!), and arrange the butter slices evenly on top.
Bake until the cake is golden and bubbling.
Serve warm topped with ice cream or whipped cream.
