She always claimed that through no fault of her own, she’d end up spending money needlessly in spite of her best efforts not to. And she was right; I saw this happen time and time again, despite the fact that she was more than a little tight-fisted, lol. For me, it’s ginger, without a doubt.
(I’m pretty sure this is because of these cookies, which I vividly remember my mom frequently making in autumns gone by.) Even when I don’t have homemade Molasses Crinkles on hand, I can usually find a box of store-bought gingersnaps in my cupboard (which are surprisingly delicious!). (more…)

Where you live, does it snow for Christmas? It used to snow here religiously every year. (Actually, I remember being a kid and trick-or-treating in the snow on Halloween some years!) Alas, we haven’t been guaranteed a white Christmas for the past four years or so.
Which is a crying shame, really…there’s just something about a blanket of white that makes Christmas feel so special. (more…)
