Lemon-Vanilla Almond Cake {Paleo}

When I was younger, I hated any and all lemon-flavored desserts with a passion. Lemon bars, lemon meltaway cookies, and even lemon meringue pie were all on my list.

(But oddly enough, I was a big fan of super sour lemon-flavored WarHeads candy – does anyone else remember those? Incidentally, I consider this proof positive that there is no rhyme or reason to kids’ tastes.) (more…)

Have I ever told you about my mom’s apple pie?

It’s killer.

She always makes it deep-dish style (like Chicago pizza). Which is a crying shame, really…there’s just something about a blanket of white that makes Christmas feel so special. (more…)

Toasted Coconut-Almond Biscotti {Giveaway!}

I have a picture of each of the seasons in my mind…summer is grill parties, fall is harvest dinners, and winter is comforting stews, roasts, and casseroles.  But every time cheery spring arrives with its bright blossoms, chirping birds, and sunny days, I feel like brunch is in order. (more…)
